ABOUT

Amy McLaughlin-Sheasby, Ph.D.

Practically Theology is a blog devoted to seeking out the sacred between us. As a practical theologian, I am constantly thinking about theology in the ordinary spaces of life. I am in the business of theologically interpreting life. To this end, it is important to remember that the Divine is never bound wholly in books, nor is the Divine limited to the boundaries we recklessly and foolishly erect. God can be detected all over creation, and to be an astute theologian is to be ever aware of that pervasive Divine presence. Indeed, what we often imagine to be secular or profane is always already filled with the presence of God. Perhaps our theologies are only as small as our imaginations. In which case, consider this blog an attempt to venture toward a bigger theological imagination. It's not much, but it's my stake in the ground. I share it with you simply because it is good to have friends for the journey. So welcome, friends, and know that if I could casually chat about life and theology with you over wine instead of a computer screen, I would.
